A Kind Gesture
One of the house parents noticed that our kids were not eating much at mealtime in the cafeteria (we usually eat at home and go to meals to hang out). Her concern for our children's well-being led her to bring them a gift. This is what she brought:
Underneath the wrapper is what looks like paper seaweed. But here's the kicker - it IS paper seaweed. Apparently she thought since the cafeteria was not tickling my kids' fancy, paper seaweed would. You can probably guess the odds on my kids eating the seaweed. However, it was perhaps the nicest gesture we've received since being here. She also brought 6 apples to compliment the seaweed, and they were delicious.
