Top Ten Lessons Learned Leading 9 Chinese Orphans On A 6 Week Tour of 5 US States
1. Trampolines are God's third greatest gift to children.
2. Hugs and smiles transcend language and culture.
3. Home Alone also transcends language and culture.
4. I don't see how I could love any kids that were not my own with any greater love.
5. I have never in my life as a teacher taught on such "fertile soil".
6. If the American church took care of its own with the same love and hospitality with which it took care of us then it would be a revolutionized place.
7. Kids are kids. American, Chinese, orphaned, adopted, or otherwise - kids are kids.
8. Adoption saves lives. It saves lives both physically and spiritually. We had the privilege of meeting scores of adoptive kids and families while on tour and it was one of the greatest blessing of the 6 weeks. We performed at the National Christian Orphan Alliance Conference and met dozens of other orphan care ministries and some of the most giving families I've ever met. Adoption is not just our spiritual reward (Romans 8), but I am trying to decide if I can even go so far as to say it is the earthly spiritual duty of those who can, because...
