Thailand Vacation Recap pt. 1
Phuket Island in Thailand is famous for three things: prostitution, the 2004 Tsunami, and picturesque scenery unmatched in the world. We went to southern Thailand for 12 days. The first two things we fortunately avoided with no problem. The third couldn’t be avoided even if it was your desire to do so.
Our first destination was the Evason Phuket and Six Senses Spa. The way it worked out on our itinerary we stayed at the nicest place first. I have stayed at hundreds of different hotels all around the world and this is my favorite hotel in the world. It is a bit slanderous to even call it a hotel. The Evason is a spa, and not just the place where you get a message, the whole place is designed with the holistic wellness of the guest in mind. It has also won awards as being one of the most environmentally friendly resorts in the world. The Evason owns its own island (Bon Island - see the top 2 pictures of the previous post) which drew my lips to hum Jimmy Buffet melodies followed by tunes of Hallelujah.
Our next hotel hosted a couple guests that we got to know very well during our stay there. Their names are Lily (4) and Lucky (2.5). Lily and Lucky are elephants. They came out to play each afternoon. They gave back massages, rides for kids, kisses (see photo), sprayed the kids with water, and at the end of the day they got to play in the waves just like all the other kids.
