Visa Travel/Vacation/10 Year Anniversary
It is no exaggeration to say that the last 8 months of my life has been the most difficult stretch of time I have endured so far in my 32 years on this earth. It went from hard to harder but the last 3 months have gone from good to better. It is because of this difficult stretch, and also because of the recent upswing that I can say that I have never in my life needed a vacation as badly as I do right now.
Our visas say we must leave China every 180 days, this time is coming due in August. August 12, 2010 marks Chyloe's and my 10 year wedding anniversary. The orphanage is empty since English Camp is over and our kids don't come back from their hometown visits until the end of August. All of these things put together led us to plan our 12 day vacation in Malaysia and Thailand. Very few Americans get to enjoy this part of the world and we consider ourselves lucky to able to to enjoy the Thai/Malaysian peninsula.
Our itinerary is as follows: Train from Beijing to Tainjin. Fly from Tianjin to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Stay in KL for one night. Fly to Phuket, Thailand where we will stay 6 nights. Ferry to Phi Phi Islands where we will stay 2 nights. Ferry to Krabi, Thailand where we will stay for 2 nights. Fly to KL where we will stay for one night, then return is the same as our outgoing trip. We are looking forward to a lot of beach and pool time, snorkeling, riding elephants, kayaking, and maybe some rock climbing, fishing, scuba diving, golfing. We’ll see.
