Update from Fangshan

Here is an update I received from our South African sister/co-worker who is on the ground in Beijing:

Lisa came with me to help and got 3 brothers to join us. The 3 brothers and i spend almost 5 hours cleaning and carrying stuff out to the playground where it was all spread out to dry. The tramplone became my washing line for all my winter clothes... christmas was out too. Thankfully there was a box of teaching things that didn't get wet. Everything waiste down was pretty much trashed but then at eye level everything still looked ok. ;) all in all good clean out. Although outside our main gate half the road was occupied by stuff that had to be thrown away. We did all we could today and called it on account of nobody could stand any more or speak from tiredness.

Their is still a lot that has not been touched yet and lots more to take stock of. There is talk of moving. Not being able to bring the kids back to this. The knd needs a lot of repair and will take a while to reopen in my opinion. everything that got drenched is being thrown out because of the dirty water it is crazy to see how much damage water can do.

All in all it is a good clean out. The forcast says rain for the next 4 or so day. not sure how we are going to dry things or wash things without washing machines or anywhere sanitary to wash em.... But i'll leave that story for tomorrow when it happens.

Thank you all for your thoughts. They are appreciated. As soon as the damage is assessed i'll let you know but as you can see from photos it was a big loss.

Trust your well and thankful for your home ;)
I say good night as i febreeze myself to sleep.
