Welcome Blogging Fans!
I believe that bloggers are, for the most part, people who think their lives are more interesting than they really are. I don't Twitter because I don't care what you are doing at this moment and you probably don't really care what I am doing at this moment. I think the point of a journal is to unload thoughts and prayers and not to publish it on the World Wide Web.
Having said all that...I have started a blog. Let's just be clear that I am only doing this by popular demand - apparantly people do care what I am doing. If I may toot my own horn for a moment, I do think my life is pretty interesting. You probably do too if you are reading this - or you are related to me. We will continue with the regular .pdf updates, but this is for those of you who just can't get enough of our story in China.
So welcome to amateur writing skills and mind boggling stories of how life is lived on the other side of the globe.
P.S. A note about the title and web address - I really am an optimist. The title is really not complete self deprication. If you have ever read anything written by my good friend Paul you will get it. If you haven't read anything by him I would highly recommend the third chapter of his 6th book.
