Tyson Update

We have learned over the past year and a half that so many of you who are following our story are also closely following our nephew Tyson's story.  We appreciated that because we feel like our story is inextricably linked with his story currently.  His story has taken a turn for the worse.  To sum it up, after a full onslaught of chemo and radiation his body was cancer free.  His first post-treatment MRI showed that the tumor was back.  The doctors planned for another shot at chemo, since he handled it so well last time, but after the first round they looked at the tumor again and found that the chemo had proven ineffective.  This was the worst news possible.  

There is still one thing they are going to try (though the doctors do not sound too hopeful about it) but they cannot begin that until his white blood cell counts are up, and currently they have been at 0 for over 2 weeks.  

Chyloe decided to take advantage of the 2 week window we had before school starts back up for me and she flew home yesterday to DC to surprise Summer and their Mom.  Me and the boys remain in Beijing.  I am real excited that Chyloe had the chance to go home and I know these 2 weeks will be a time she will remember and treasure for the rest of her life.
